I've been going through some of the Orion documentation trying to clean up our configuration recently and have run across a question I can't seem to find an answer for (either in the pdfs or forums). With the Windows performance counters (application monitor), am I gaining anything that SNMP monitoring cannot pickup? Specifically the administrator who setup our Orion instance configured the Windows servers to have SNMP monitoring and the Windows performance counters. If I'm reading the documentation from SolarWinds correctly it appears the counters provide the same information as SNMP, and I shouldn't need the counters?
