I have 6 different sites that have file processing done on a particular server.
Processing requires each of the 6 sites have 4 paths monitored for file processing.
I created a template that covers the needed monitoring with 6 component monitors.
When I apply the template to the Server I have the option to edit it. For example "Master Template File Monitor" can be renamed to "Site A File Monitor". I can add the same template again to the same server and rename the second template addition to "Site B File Monitor".
But when I go to edit the Components in each assigned APM the "Rename" option does not activate and allow editing. My alerts MUST trigger on the component level and specific to each site but this can only be done if the Component name can be edited to something unique.
Renaming the components at the template level will not help as there are 6 sites and each component name must reference that site to trigger the alerting.
Is there currently a way to rename Components at that level that were applied through a master template?
Also, if you can apply the same template to a server multiple times and rename it then why would the option to rename the sub components also be available?
