Symatec Enterprise Vault - monitoring the open partition
Looking for a way to monitor the open partition in SEV. When the open partition gets to less than 250 GB I have it alerting for a new partition to be created. Problem is I have to change to the volume label in my alert to notify.
Is there a way that I can monitor the share \\FS-BBBBB-AMS01\OpenPartitionMonitor ?

Configure Node to Query multiple entries in DNS User Experience Monitor
We are looking to use the DNS User Experience Monitor on our DNS servers and would like to set it up so that each server is queried against multiple entries and a response is returned indicating each query object and it's corresponding result. Is this possible and how would it be done?

Need help with Advanced Alerts
Hello Everyone,
I need another set of eyes to look at this. I'm having a couple of problems. The first problem is with Advanced Alerts under triggers. I've included screen shots below. My expectation is that I receive alerts when a component is down and has one of the four custom properties and the node status is not equal to down. When I enabled the alert I received over 300 emails and most of them did not have one of the four custom properties. I'm not sure what's wrong with the logic below. Please help. The other problem is that I created an additional custom property to add the support group name and I built it under Application. I added the custom property into Triggered Action of the alert I'm having issues with. The email shows the variable name, but not the name from custom properties. Images below.

Too much padding in Component Details Resource after SAM 6.3/NPM 12 upgrade
While I mostly like the new "re-skin" of the Web Console after upgrading to SAM 6.3/NPM 12, I've got a fairly troubling issue I've noticed. I have several custom PowerShell script monitors that grab a bunch of healthcheck data, each from an internal URL, parse it, and output the results to the "Message" field as an HTML table. I then put a "Component Details" resource on the customized "Application Details" view for the Application Monitor and pick the PowerShell Script Monitor with the HTML table message as the resource to display in this resource. Prior to the upgrade to NPM 12 it was looking great. However, now, as you can see in the screenshot below, it is putting a bunch of negative space in the resource causing the table to be cutoff unless I expand the resource to be humongous. Sometimes I have to expand it to go off screen just to include the full table.
Anybody know what may have changed in the web console's css or html formatting that would cause this and how can I overcome it? I imagine aLTeReGo or another SolarWinds employee will need to weigh in on this to be able to provide the answer, as this will obviously require a pretty thorough knowledge of the underlying changes to the GUI with this upgrade. I'm pretty bummed though because I spent a lot of time creating these HTML tables to work and display properly in the Script Output Message fields and it was working great. I got a ton of accolades from several departments in our company since I could display the output they were wanting to see in a really nice and concise format and I didn't have to create dozens of individual SAM components to do it. I can just use one SAM component to output a table full of data. Best of all it's dynamic in that if they add new items to their HealthCheck the script will automatically report on them and display their status without me having to do a thing. But now, without being able to view this data in a user friendly way all of that work may have been for nothing. I'd really like to find a workaround.

SNMP Monitoring of an AudioCodes Mediant 4000
Hello,
I am working on setting up SNMP monitoring of our AudioCodes Mediant 4000 but I am not having much luck. I have been trying to set up some additional SNMP monitors using the PUBLIC readonly community string but all of them have not worked for me. Do I need to use Read/Write for AudioCodes or is there something else I am missing?

Mass force components to revert back to Inherit from Template
We have a situation where we need to clear template overrides from > 1,800 components and set them back to Inherit from Template.
I opened a case with support (1091057) for an SQL delete. They said NO!!! I had gotten one in the past to force Credential overrides out. This what they gave me then:

You see a cached version of resources from...
Many times when I go to view a node I see this message "You see a cached version of resources from [date/time]." Does this mean that the node's resources are not being polled? How do I know that I'm getting accurate alerting on my server nodes (such as disk volume percentages) if the system is using cached resources? Is there a way to know if every node is being polled regularly? I tried turning on the alerts for "node not polled in last 10 minutes" and "last 5 polls failed" but I'm getting nothing.

SolarWinds Under-Reporting Disk Usage
I'm hoping someone can help me out with this. SolarWinds SAM is under-reporting all of my disk usage on several servers that I have checked so far. Any ideas? Has anybody else run into this?

Clocking trying to add a node
Hi all,
i just installed the most recent version of SAM as well as the hot fix on a newly built Windows 2012 R2 STD server. i am trying to manually add my first node...a windows 2012 R2 STD server using WMI. After i enter the server name and credentials (the account tested ok). i click next where it gets to "choose resources", at this point it just clocks and never gets past this point. i let it run for 2 hours and it never came back with any results.
i tried by name and IP
i confirmed DNS is working properly
i confirmed i can ping the remote server by name and server
i confirmed local server firewalls are off
i confirmed AV is not blocking
i confirmed both the SWinds server and windows servers are in the same VLAN so there are no network firewall policies blocking traffic
i confirmed with Windows Management instrumentation tester that WMI is also working to the remote server.

Show website status up with HTTP monitor even on HTTP error codes
We are monitoring some URLs through SAM HTTP Monitor.
The website requires credentials for monitoring, our account does not have access to that website but we need to monitor it.
If server is returning "401 Unauthorized" for us that means the website is UP. Is there a way to tweak this in SAM HTTP monitor component and show the website as UP even if we get "401 Unauthorized".

ESX HOSTS MONITORING - ASSET INVENTORY INFORMATIONS
Hello,
I am digging deeply into asset inventory with ESX nodes in ORION. I am exploring database with SQL request:
SELECT * FROM [SolarWinds].[dbo].[AssetInventory_ServerInformation] Where OperatingSystem like '%VMware%'
It is very strange that some ESX hosts have filled in SystemName or FreeMemoryB and other hosts have SystemName or FreeMemoryB blank. I use for each ones SNMP and VMware Poll throught host directly with local account.
Does have any indea why I have diffrent information in asset inventory foe ESX hosts?

There is the box Average CPU Load & Memory Utilization and Memory Used 100%
Below are Disk Volumes and I do not see any RAM usage with 100%???
I am confused from that.
Can anyone answer what does calculate Memory Used 100%? It is Avarage value?

How can I mask\hide the connection string in the ODBC user experience monitor?
Hello All,
I am using ODBC user experience monitor to fetch results for a query on DB2. Its working fine for me but the problem is that the compliance team is not allowing me to enter the connection string which is visible for all the Solarwinds Admins. Is there any way by which I can mask\hide the connection string?
