How to capture traffic stats from a QLogic and Brocade Fiber Switch

Hi Thwack Community:

I'm new with Solarwinds Applications and was given the following task: To capture how much traffic is going thru the interfaces of a Fiber Switch.

We have 4 Fiber Switches QLogic Sanbox 5600.

I have selected SNMP to read this data but if you think there is something better, let me know.

In the SNMP manuals for these Switches, I found the following OIDs:

connUnitPortStatCountTxElements 1.3.6.1.3.94.4.5.1.6
The number of octets or bytes that have been transmitted by this port.

connUnitPortStatCountRxElements 1.3.6.1.3.94.4.5.1.7
The number of octets or bytes that have been received by this port.

Each Switch has 15 fiber ports and 4 10GB ports.

Since these OIDs are not standard, I created new pollers with this information. Now I am facing these problems:

1) The information provided by these OIDs is in HEX, and I want to present to Management a decimal chart with the Traffic

2) All 4 Switches are reporting the information in Cluster, that is, I see 76 ports instead of 19

3) I don't know how to prepare a decent report with only 19 ports at a time, including a line chart

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RG
