I have our Solarwinds server sitting at a remote site monitoring our environment and over the weekend we have some network issues that caused Solarwinds to not be able to connect to them. This caused outage emails to be sent for all of our servers. The network then came back up, and promptly went offline again which caused a mass amount extra emails to be sent.. This happened about 3-4 times and ended up with close to 400 emails being sent out in a matter of an hour.
Is there a way to check on network connectivity and if there appears to be issues we will only get an email or two letting us know we might be having network issues rather than emails from every single server saying it is down? Something like adding in a router or switch and if we can not ping that route or switch it will not send out emails for servers?
Whats the best way to go about this?
