Recycling Application Pool Directly From Server Works Fine, But From SAM Does Not.

Hopefully just a simple question needing a quick and simple answer.

Orion Platform 2015.1.2, NCM 7.4, NPM 11.5.2, DPA 10.0.0, QoE 2.0, IVIM 2.1.0, SAM 6.2.2

On the main poller/webserver, through IIS Manager, I can navigate to the "Application Pools" area, and "Recycle" the "SolarWinds Orion Application Pool". I am uncertain if this action SHOULD cause me any downtime when accessing the webpage. However, I do not notice any downtime, and it appears to continue to load pages as it normally would.

Now, when I go into the "IIS Application Pool" within the IIS Insight monitor, and "Recycle" the "SolarWinds Orion Application Pool", it seems to hang, and pages stop loading.

When this happens, I have to RDP back into the server, restart the "SolarWinds NetPerfMon" website, and then I can manually recycle the app pool.

Is this normal/expected behavior?

Why would a single app pool recycle work so easily, and quickly, directly from the IIS Manager on the server, but not from using SAM, living on the same server?

Should they both do the same thing, in the same way, or am I thinking/talking about 2 totally different actions?

Throughout all of our SolarWinds environment, SAM is definitely my weakest link, in regards to my knowledge and experience.

Thank you,

-Will
