Modify Custom Properties of monitored objects when adding a node

Is there any way to customize the Add Node wizard to allow me to modify the Custom Property(ies) of monitored objects?  I realize that, after adding a node, I can circle back in the Manage Nodes screen, either by displaying the new node and clicking the "+" beside it, then selecting the object(s) and clicking "Edit Properties", or by using the Custom Property Editor, but that's both clumsy and a training issue for people in my group.  The workflow would be much smoother if I could modify the Add Node wizard to incorporate setting the Custom Property(ies) of the monitored objects.
