Database monitoring -- a few questions about SQL DB names

I've got a couple questions about monitoring SQL databases using SAM 5.5 -- sorry if these are pretty basic. 

1)  When monitoring using the SQL application monitoring (SNMP), even though Initial Catalog is set to Master within the component, does the component actually check all of the databases within the instance?  (Provided the account has access, of course)

2)  If the above is true, is there a variable name that I can use in the alerts to designate which database has the component violation?
