How to control whether alerts are repeated or suppressed if condtion still exists?

I'm new to SolarWinds and just setting up alerts for the first time.  One of the alerts I configured was to check for low disk space:

Trigger Condition (when all apply):

Volume Type is equal to Fixed Disk

Volume Percentage Used is greater than 95

Volume Percent Used is not equal to -2

Caption is not equal to Physical Memory

Caption is not equal to Virtual Memory

Reset condition is default - when no longer true

Nothing under Alert Supression or Reset Actions

The trigger action is to send an email.

It appears that when I do a Test Fire Alert sometimes it works (I receive email reports, and sometimes I do not even though some of the nodes certainly meet the conditions).  Also when you do a test, I don't understand the purpose of selecting a network node.  Is it really only checking  single node?  Because even though I select one, I'll either get a flurry of 15-20 emails (all the volume that match the conditions), or zero.

After I ran the test, I never receive another alert even though I have taken no action to clear up disk space (the trigger conditions are still met).  I have Alert Evaluation Frequency set to every 30 minutes (general tab), and Execute this action repeatedly every 5 minutes while the alert is triggered set (email - alert escalation tab).  I'd like to have the reports keep coming until the condition is cleared.  Please advise.
